SUMMARY:2026 Fall Exhibitions Opening Reception
LOCATION:MIT List Visual Arts Center\, 20 Ames Street\, Building E15\, Camb
 ridge\, MA 02139
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the opening reception to celebrate two new exhibiti
ons at the List Center: Uri Aran: Look How Hard They Work and Hao Jingban:
I Witness. The opening reception will follow an Artist Talk with exhibiti
ng artist\, Hao Jingban\, from 5:30-6:30PM. Exhibiting artists and exhibit
ion curators will be in attendance. Light refreshments and beverages from
Momma's Grocery + Wine will be served. Uri Aran: Look How Hard They Work U
ri Aran's work is at once deeply idiosyncratic and oddly familiar: to foll
ow it is to tinker alongside the artist\, to be let in on an invention\, o
r perhaps a shorthand between friends. Aran’s first major institutional
solo exhibition in the United States gathers a new body of work: annotated
panels that hover between quick line drawing and painting\, welded sculpt
ures that pose like equations\, bulbous forms worked by hand in plasticene
and foam\, and a mass of piled-up googly eyes—the most elementary form
of affect and animation—tragicomically raised to the scale of an earthwo
rk. Hao Jingban: I Witness Blending documentary sensibility with poetic co
nstruction\, Hao Jingban makes moving-image installations that are emotion
ally precise\, historically incisive\, and formally experimental. Hao’s
first major US museum solo gathers recent work centered on I Witness (2025
)\, a three-channel installation that takes up the embodied residue of the
COVID-19 pandemic: four participants move slowly through a well-lit apart
ment\, their images punctuated by stories of loss—an older woman who sle
eps alone and rises to clean her refrigerator\, a group of young people pa
cing an open field.\n\nEvent page: https://www.cre8.xyz/view/event/evt-pro
