Drive-through bays in North Florida: what to know

Backing a 40-foot fifth wheel through a single door takes patience and a spotter. A drive-through bay puts a tall door on each end wall so you pull in from the drive and leave out the far side. That works only if there is room behind the building for a second approach, so check the lot first. With two large openings, the end walls carry more wind load, and the frame and bracing are sized for that from the start. Gravel or concrete on the exit side keeps the rear tires out of soft ground.
