These figures count permits whose description names one of the building types on this network. The type is read from the permit's own wording, so a permit that names no building type is not counted, and neither is work that is not a new building, such as re-roofs, pools or garage doors. Only totals are kept. Permit numbers, parcels, addresses, owners, applicants and contractors are not read or are dropped before counting. Each county publishes a different slice of its records, over a different period. Read each county on its own; do not add them together or compare one against another. A building type with fewer than 5 permits is not listed.
