Covered porches and event pavilions in North Florida: what to know

Porches and pavilions give a venue its outdoor ceremony space, cocktail-hour shade and a dry route between buildings. A porch framed into the main hall shares its color and roof pitch, so it looks original rather than added. A freestanding pavilion can host a ceremony with a view while the hall is set for dinner. Covered walkways connect the parking, the hall and any bridal suite. Each open roof is engineered for wind lifting it from below, which shapes the posts and footings, and lighting and fans make these spaces usable after sunset.
