Tall-bay garages in North Florida: what to know

A tall bay is one section of the garage framed with taller sidewalls and a bigger door than its neighbors. Owners add one for a lifted pickup, a two-post car lift, a box trailer or a camper shell that will not clear an ordinary opening. Height usually goes on the end bay so the remaining bays can keep a lower eave. If a lift is planned, measure the raised height of the vehicle plus the lift arms, and tell the contractor so the slab and the door are designed around it.
