Office layouts for the way your team works

Title formatBody

List the rooms your team uses in a normal week, including meetings, quiet work and visitors. The number of desks is a starting point, but it does not tell you the whole floor plan.

## Map a representative week

List the people usually present, the meetings that occur and the tasks requiring privacy or quiet. Include hybrid schedules and occasional busy days without assuming every possible peak happens simultaneously. Separate current needs from a future growth scenario.

Draw visitor movement from entry to meeting space and staff movement to work areas. Consider whether guests need to pass through concentrated work zones. The route can reveal a better room arrangement before additional floor area is considered.

## Account for the support spaces

Storage, printing, staff breaks, equipment and building services need defined locations. Include the room around furniture and equipment used for access and maintenance. A desk layout that consumes every open area can leave routine support tasks without a workable home.

Have the design team establish the access and occupancy requirements for the actual office use. Have the office layout reviewed by the project designer before treating it as final.

## Compare layouts by activity

Try an arrangement with clustered meeting rooms and another with distributed rooms. Discuss noise, privacy and movement with qualified designers while keeping the staffing assumptions fixed.
