Describe when the facility will open, which activities it will host and how you expect it to be used through the year. Compare the covered and enclosed options against those plans.
Set the operating expectations
List the sports, planned hours and expected types of use. Distinguish casual practice, scheduled instruction and organized events. Explain which conditions could interrupt an activity and how the business or organization would respond.
Do not assume that a roof alone creates an all-weather venue. Discuss exposure, comfort and the intended use with the design team using the actual property and activity program.
Compare support spaces
Identify storage, staff areas, restrooms, reception and other functions included in the concept. An open court cover may still be part of a larger facility with enclosed support rooms. Show those relationships rather than comparing only the central playing area.
Include lighting and sports equipment in the scope discussion. Ask the relevant suppliers and designers to coordinate their requirements with the proposed structure and operating plan.
Show any later enclosure on the plans
If enclosure is a possible later phase, describe it as a defined scenario for professional review. Ask what would need to be considered now and what remains a future design decision. Avoid treating an open structure as automatically convertible to every later use.
Compare proposals using the same activity schedule and support program. Record exclusions and assumptions, including work outside the main building, so the options represent complete concepts.
