Where to put the golf cart wash bay

Draw the fleet's return route and the order of washing, inspection and parking. Place the wash area where it fits that sequence and can be coordinated with the site's services.

Describe what will be washed

List carts, mowers and other equipment expected to use the bay. Include the selected cleaning equipment and available supplier information. Explain who performs the work and when it occurs during a typical day.

Ask staff to identify the busiest return period and what happens if more than one vehicle is waiting. Record where a vehicle goes afterward, including those that need inspection or repair before storage.

Map the supporting work

Show supplies, equipment servicing and the route used for deliveries. Include the places staff stand, move tools and keep items that should not be left in the vehicle path. Ask relevant specialists to review the proposed operating arrangement.

Provide the project team with information about the cleaning process and equipment. Mark the water supply and wash area on the sketch, then have the site professionals design the water-handling systems.

Define the construction package

Ask the contractor to separate the cover or enclosure, site work, building systems and equipment-related work in the proposal. Identify who supplies cleaning equipment, who installs it and who coordinates the relevant information.

For an existing course, discuss how washing and storage will continue while work is underway. A temporary operating plan should be agreed with the responsible team rather than assumed from the finished layout.
