Who handles the arena roof, drainage and footing?

The roof, drainage and riding surface may be supplied by different contractors. Write down who handles each part and how their work will be coordinated before comparing proposals.

Share the same site information

Give the structure contractor and surface specialist the same location, use program and available site records. Ask who evaluates the ground, develops the relevant surface and drainage plan, and coordinates elevations and access. Each professional should understand where their work meets the other's.

Have the footing specialist specify the surface for your riding use and site. Tell the arena team how you ride and what maintenance you can carry out, so they can specify the work.

Coordinate edges and entrances

Show arena boundaries, columns, gates and equipment routes on one drawing. Discuss how the surface meets adjacent areas and how maintenance equipment enters. A roof plan that ignores those transitions can leave important work unresolved until late in the project.

Ask who manages water arriving from the roof and surrounding site. Record the responsibility and proposed interface instead of assuming the surface installer will solve everything below the eaves.

Compare deliverables

Separate site assessment, earthwork, foundations, roof structure, surface construction and maintenance information. Clarify which items each proposal includes and which depend on additional design.
