Read 2026-10-07: "The Board of County Commissioners of Columbia County requires a Local Business Tax for anyone providing merchandise or services to the public." The fee for "Business, Occupations, Professions" is $30 (a farmers market or flea market is $200, outside this row's range). "New Business Tax Receipts are issued any time during the year and are prorated April 1st, at which time half-year fees apply", which is the $15 floor. "Local Business Tax is renewed annually in August and September. The Business Tax Receipt is valid through September 30th of the following year", so a tracked permit comes due on the next September 30 after it was issued. A receipt renewed in August or September for the year ahead would read as due that same September 30: set its expiry to the following year's by hand. The page lists no documents to bring; the office's number on the page is 386-758-1077.

Scope
Operator checklist, not legal advice. Confirm every row with the issuing agency before acting on it.
Permit rules are set by the city, the county and the state separately, and they change. Rows labelled "unverified seed" were written from the general shape of the US permit ladder, not read off a current ordinance, and rows with no fee show "unknown" rather than a guess. Confirm each row with the issuing agency, then promote it with LegalCode.PermitRequirementUpsert (confidence=verified with source_url and source_checked_at_ms).
