`notes`	Read 2026-09-18 off the City of Knoxville's own Vendor Licensing Requirements document, which restates the state rule: "State of Tennessee [TCA Sections 67-4-701, et seq] requires vendors to have either: -Annual license(s) issued by a city and/or county government in the State of Tennessee which allows vendor to sell anywhere in the state temporarily ($20 annual license fee), or -Transient vendor's license issued by City of Knoxville ($55 license fee for 14 days)." The recorded range is those two figures; the renewal period is the annual option, and the 14-day option is the separate knoxville-transient-vendor-license row. The same document adds: "Anyone conducting sales or offering goods for sale, except tax-exempt organizations that did not purchase goods for sale, must meet the above requirements", and the licence must be with the seller during the event. This is an EITHER/OR that the prerequisite field cannot express - holding a Knoxville and Knox County business licence is the other way to satisfy it. Whether the annual $20 licence is issued by the county clerk or the city revenue office for a Knoxville-based operation was not confirmed; ask the Business License Division at (865) 215-2392 or the city Revenue Office at (865) 215-2083.
