Neighborhood in 3DBuildings, parcels, permits, flood zones and ground elevation are read from the City of Raleigh, Wake County, FEMA and USGS each time the scene is built. Floor counts are estimates and nothing here is a survey.

Every building in a square of Raleigh, raised from public LiDAR heights and standing on the USGS bare-earth ground.

What the scene cannot tell you

  • No interior floor plans are published for Raleigh or Wake County; floors are estimated from LiDAR wall height and checked against the county's heated area.
  • Storey heights are typical values for each use, and heated area is compared with 85% of the roof-traced outline, so a floor count is an estimate, not a record.
  • Flood zones are FEMA's regulatory map, generalized to about five metres; they are not a flood forecast.
  • Ground is the USGS 3DEP bare-earth model on a 129-vertex grid, so banks and ditches narrower than the grid step are smoothed, and each building stands at the lowest ground under its outline; when 3DEP is unavailable, ground is interpolated from the building layer's footprint elevations.
  • Parcel owner names and mailing addresses are never requested.
